ZohaNur includes a chat assistant that answers questions about Islam. This page exists because a feature like this needs its limits stated in plain words rather than in a disclaimer nobody reads.

It is not a mufti#

The assistant is a language model. It generates text that resembles a correct answer. It does not know, understand, or verify anything, and it is entirely capable of producing a confident, fluent, well-formatted answer that is wrong.

Do not act on a religious ruling because the assistant said it. Not on prayer, fasting, zakat, marriage, divorce, inheritance, or anything else that carries consequences. Take those to a qualified scholar who knows your circumstances.

Where the assistant is useful: looking something up, understanding an unfamiliar term, finding where a topic is discussed, and getting oriented before you ask a person. Treat it as a starting point for a question, never as its answer.

Why it can fail specifically on religion#

• It can attribute a narration to a collection it does not appear in.
• It can state one madhab's position as though it were the only position.
• It can blend a weak or fabricated report into an otherwise sound answer.
• It answers in the same authoritative tone whether it is right or wrong.

The last point is the dangerous one. Nothing in the reply tells you which kind of answer you have received.

What happens to what you type#

Your message is sent to a third-party AI provider. This is the only feature in ZohaNur that transmits what you write to another company.

• Only the text of your message is sent. Your location, prayer history, reading data, tracker entries and other app content are not attached.
• The provider handles that text under its own privacy policy and may retain it. We cannot promise otherwise on their behalf.
• Do not type anything private, identifying, or sensitive into the chat. Not personal circumstances you would not say aloud, not names, not health matters, not anything you would not want stored on a server you do not control.

Every other feature in ZohaNur works without ever using the assistant. If you would rather nothing leave your device at all, simply do not open it.

Scope#

The assistant is restricted to Islamic topics. It is not a general-purpose chatbot, and it will decline to write your essays. It also declines to issue rulings on matters requiring a scholar, which is intended behaviour rather than a failure.

Reporting a wrong answer#

If the assistant tells you something incorrect about Islam, please report it with the question you asked and the reply you received: [email protected]. These reports directly improve the offline knowledge base the assistant checks before reaching for a model.
